A Night Out with Ghoulfriends
After you hit 30, recovering from a night full of debauchery takes a solid week at least and then some additional time to gather all your thoughts. Which is why it’s taken me so long to share my night out at the BeetleHouse LA. When my ghoulfriends suggested a night out at the infamous BeetleHouse, saying I was in was the only logical thing to do. The night was all planned out; reservations made, pre-game drinks bought, outfits laid on the bed.
This was my first time at BeetleHouse. I’ve been wanting to go ever since they started with their pop-up. When we pulled up in our Uber, I couldn’t wait to get inside.
I’m sure I looked like a kid in a candy store, mouth gaped open in awe with the decor and ambience.
I had peeped the menu before I got there and decided what I wanted. They offer a 3-course dinner called the Poltergeist Feast that includes an appetizer, entree and dessert. For my appetizer I got the buffalo style Frankenfries which were incredible. The bleu cheese were the perfect addition to them. My entree was the Sweeney Beef that was on a bed of mashed potatoes(yes, carb overload I know but while at BeetleHouse you treat yourself). The straight razor was the perfect garnish and the filet was mouth-watering.
Now the only disappointment of my meal was the dessert. I had ordered the Lemon Fire Cheesecake and unfortunately they were sold out for the night. I settled for the Oogie Boogie’s Cookies ‘N Cream and honestly there was nothing special about it. It tasted just like something I could have at home and the presentation wasn’t there. I sampled my friends desserts as well being the foodie I am and the Sorbet and Chocolate Cake were also dissatisfying. The cake was bland and dry and and the sorbet again was nothing special.
The show during dinner was incredible. The performers would have their solo and then everyone teamed up for a finale. It was spectacular.
After dinner a few of us decided to go over to the bar portion of the restaurant, we were not ready to end the Burton experience. The performances continued and the party raged on. All the performers were extremely talented and entertaining.
The bar itself was packed and they even had an outside portion where you could get some fresh air without having to leave. Overall, we had an incredible time and would come back again.
